Cyprus may only be the third largest island in the Mediterranean, but it is certainly the hottest and sunniest. Although some sources will tell you that the average number of sunny days in Cyprus is 340 or even 360 days per year, the accurate average for the island as a whole is actually 326 sunshine days per annum.

Although the short 'rainy' season lasts from November until March, most of the rain actually falls between December and February.

Spring tends to be a mild season in Cyprus with a few gusts of wind in early May. Around the middle of May, temperatures begin to rise until, during July and August, they can reach well above 30 degrees centigrade.

Autumn is another mild time of year and extends well into November, when the 'rainy' season sets in again.

There are only a few places on the planet, where you can conveniently enjoy downhill skiing and swimming in the sea on the same day without having to travel hundreds of miles. In fact, the only two other places where this is geographically convenient are the Lebanon and Iran. Which would you prefer to choose??
